This is a qualitative study of research practical action type, which arises from the interest
of three teachers, with the intention to develop teaching strategies that help to transform the
mediations of the teacher and encouraging the classroom interactions, to make the process of
teaching natural sciences easier. To this end we presents a didactic proposal based on the use of
the analogy as a creative strategy for teaching the structure and expression of genetic material,
which facilitates the approach of complex and abstract concepts of science, to the concrete and
daily reality to the student.
This proposal teaching was applied, after a validation process, in a group of students of
ninth grade in the Porfirio Barba Jacob public school, which allowed us to identify the creative
features of this strategy and describes the teaching mediations and their effects on the interactions
in the classroom; also allowed to make some modifications to the initial proposal, before
including it as a product in this report. So, we aspire to provide guidance to other teachers
interested in implementing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies, focused on the
development of creative skills in students for the study of natural sciences.
