Sumario: The college-level academic repetition is a problem nationwide. In this regard, there are several studies and data on repetition rates, but these data are limited to quantitative research and do not indicate the incidence of the phenomenon of repetition on a subjective level, and how this can be seen in different academic areas. Academic repetition is a factor that can generate several psychic contents that can be directed to various areas of the institution. These contents can cause distress in the subject, and unconsciously mobilize defense mechanisms to protect themselves from the anxiety they cause in “the self” of the subject.
